Just a quick message to thank everyone who attended our Christmas Eve Buffet, It was great to see so many of our students past and present as well as airfield members despite the weather and the seasonal lurgy going around.

Some spectacular sights today around Strathaven Airfield with the low cloud and fog all around and very busy for midweek with 6 aircraft either in circuit or trying to get in circuit at one point.

A breezy day at Strathaven airfield today and challenging for the students. 70kts indicated airspeed both directions but very different ground speeds

Another milestone for Gerry today, Here he is returning from his second qualifying cross country solo flight in his Xair Hawk….. Not forgetting Graham in the background finishing off the check flight on a customers flexwing aircraft.

Another busy weekend at Strathaven Airfield with members making trips out to Bute and Colonsay on Saturday and Fishburn and Carlisle today. Please give us a call l if you want to join us on our regular fly outs or maybe meet up at a destination airfield. Here’s a few pics from the weekend and a video or two to follow. Well done to Kerys on her first time talking to ATC on the radio on her cross country navigation exercise this morning.

Here’s our EV-97 SL returning from a trip to see the Kelpies, Stirling Castle , over Loch Lomond turning South at Dunoon to route down the west coast overhead Bute Airfield returning to Strathaven via the Kilmarnock gap. Just in time to see our C-42 getting ready to depart for a trip to the West Coast..

Another excellent days flying today at Strathaven Airfield despite the recent storms. The school C-42 is running silky smooth after the gearbox and carburettors overhaul. Here’s a few photos around the local area from this mornings flight.
