Today marks the fourth year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine.
For us four years seems to have flown by. A lot of changes have happened both within our personal and work lives, however I can only imagine that the last four years have seemed to be a relentless, never ending battle for the Ukrainian citizens who have both left the country and also who still remain.
Our journey has evolved hugely with the help we provide to the ones still left.
From the first day of being a drop off point we collected medical, toiletries, clothing, sanitary and food to literally 12 hours later we had a lorry in the workshop that we couldn’t move as it was surrounded by donations. Fortunately it wasn’t the lorry that would later be used to transport the aid out to Ukraine!
Approximately two years later and numerous trips in the artic, we had to admit it just wasn’t sustainable to keep doing things this way, however Scott was determined to continue helping.
Although we have helped civilians close to the front line, the focus is now very much on supplying four wheel drive vehicles to the soldiers on the front line, with doing this we are also still able to send aid to them aswell which consists of things such as IFAKs, tourniquets, generators, and other seasonal relevant aid.
With our small network of supporters over the last few months, we have also managed to help raise funds for a couple of drones and generators which have been sourced within Ukraine.
Scott’s last trip out to Ukraine with a 4x4 was in January, and he saw first hand the suffering that is being imposed on Ukrainians with the relentless strikes on their energy sources. The lack of power combined with the extreme cold temperatures is something that most of us cannot comprehend, but these people are just like you and I, trying to live their lives the best they can.
For those of you that know Scott will know that he is an unstoppable force of energy and determination and nothing keeps him down for long (not even two hospital stays 🙄)and he is determined to keep helping. If it only makes things a tiny bit better for those still fighting, at least we can say we tried.
To those that have helped us on this four year journey, thank you, none of this would have been possible without you.
We stand with Ukraine 🇺🇦
