As of 1st March 2026 we are stepping back and the service will be provided by Dave McBride. The number is the same, email is the same (you will NOT be able to book through this page/messenger. Look out for the new page).

We have to advise that no cars will be available from 3pm Sunday 18 January until 3pm Monday 19. All 5 drivers and their families will be enjoying a celebratory dinner to recognise their support over a very busy year.
We really look forward to welcoming you all back to our prompt and reliable service soon

We are working limited hours on 24, 25, 26 December. We have existing bookings and family commitments. There are a number of "slots" available if needed so book early.

A polite reminder to those coming to rural areas and small islands.....yes they are beyond beautiful and we understand why you would want to drive slowly to take it all in but please use passing places to let others pass in order to go about their daily business.
Doctors, people catching a ferry or going to an appointment, volunteer firefighters, carers, parents picking up children - we all need to move quickly sometimes.
PS.we love having you here - consideration is all we ask for.

Ahead of another busy season, Tarbert Cars is looking for driver(s) to join our friendly team of 5. We have plenty of shifts available with a mixture of local and long-distance runs to suit. Self-employed with great remuneration. Insurers insist you must be 30+ with a clean license and no recent claims.
