SWR strimmers carefully strimmed round the Cornish Bellflower at Crewkerne Station. It was just coming into flower so the Friends of Crewkerne Station are really pleased. Thank you strimmers. The Cornish Bellflower is thought to have been brought up the line by the trains and grows wild every year.

The Friends of Crewkerne station had a wonderful day out cruising by train down the beautiful Axe valley to Exeter. Exeter central station is almost next to the Royal Albert Museum which as well as their normal well presented exhibits had an extremely colourful Grayson Perry exhibition. After refreshments at hostelries in historic buildings some of us went underground into the medieval drainage system whilst others took in the Cathedral or the catacombs. So get a cheap day return and a rail card and enjoy some of the interesting towns between Salisbury and Exeter.
