✨ Meet Jen – The Face Behind the Scenes (and Often at the Forefront!) ✨
Many of you know Nick, but behind every successful business is an incredible support system – and for Howarths Removals, that’s Jen. ☺️
Jen and Nick have been married for 15 wonderful years and have been together for almost 23. They met just before Nick made the move to Howarths in 2004, and she’s been by his side, supporting both him and the business ever since.
With a passion for science, Jen studied Biomedical Science at university before going on to complete a Master’s degree specialising in stem cells and skin disorders. She then built a successful career working for a well-known pharmaceutical company, all while quietly helping Nick behind the scenes with administration and quotations at Howarths 😉
When COVID changed the way many businesses operated, Jen made the decision to join Howarths full-time. Since then, she has become the friendly voice many of our customers first speak to, preparing quotations, looking after customer care and guiding clients from their very first enquiry right through to completion day. Her calm, reassuring approach helps take the stress out of moving, giving customers confidence and support every step of the way.
While Jen is ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, Nick is out on moving day coordinating the team, overseeing every aspect of the move and making sure everything goes to plan. Together, they make sure every customer receives a personal, seamless service from the very first phone call to the moment they’re settled into their new home.
Jen has also played a huge part in helping Nick grow the business, developing new opportunities and securing contracts that have helped Howarths continue to flourish.
But Jen didn’t stop there…
After meeting hundreds of families who had been left frustrated by poor communication from estate agents and solicitors, she decided the property industry deserved something different. In December 2024, she took the bold step of launching Home Sweet Home Properties in Hebden Bridge.
Built around the philosophy “We Sell. We Move. You Relax.”, Home Sweet Home Properties offers a refreshing, customer-focused approach to moving home, combining estate agency expertise with the experience of one of Yorkshire’s longest-established removal companies.
Less than two years later, the business has gone from strength to strength, recently winning the Yorkshire Prestige Award for Best New Estate Agency in Yorkshire. 🏆
Whether she’s helping customers move with Howarths or guiding them through selling their home with Home Sweet Home Properties, Jen is passionate about making what can often be one of life’s most stressful experiences feel calm, straightforward and enjoyable.
