Looking for something to do today... How about Cockington Apple Day?

There’s something rather lovely about Cockington in autumn. Add local food, handmade crafts and a celebration involving plenty of apples, and it’s easy to see why this has become such a popular day out.

Apple Day returns to Cockington Court on Sunday 11 October, from 11am until 4pm. Entry is free, with more than 40 stalls offering local gifts, art, crafts, food and drink, alongside live entertainment.

Parking at Cockington is limited, particularly during popular events. If you’re heading along with the family, arranging a lift means you can skip the search for a space and enjoy the day.

Today is all about local businesses, new conversations and finally meeting some of the people we usually only speak to on the phone.

The Price First team is exhibiting at the Riviera Connect Expo today, Wednesday 7 October, at the Riviera International Centre.

The expo brings together businesses from Torbay’s tourism, hospitality and wider business community for a full day of exhibitors, speakers, workshops and networking.

If you’re attending, do come over to our stand and say hello. We’ll be there from 9.30am until 5pm and would love to see some familiar faces, as well as meet plenty of new ones.

Heavy traffic has a habit of appearing when you’re already watching the clock.

Roadworks, school-run queues or one stubborn set of temporary lights can make a journey take longer than expected. What they don’t have to do is leave you wondering what your taxi will cost.

When arranging your journey by phone, ask our team for a fixed fare. Once the price has been agreed, it won’t increase simply because the roads are busy or the journey takes a little longer.

It’s a straightforward way to plan what you’re spending before you travel: Get the Price, Book & Go.

Do you still find yourself searching for a taxi number every time you need to go somewhere?

The Price First App keeps everything together in one place. You can arrange your journey, check current waiting times, see your driver and vehicle details and follow your taxi as it makes its way to you.

You can also save regular locations, making repeat journeys to work, home or the gym much quicker to arrange.

It removes some of the usual wondering and waiting, particularly when you’re out in the evening or booking from somewhere unfamiliar. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s free to download.

Living in Torbay often means your day begins in one town and ends in another.

You might live in Paignton, work in Torquay, meet friends on the seafront and then realise the last thing you want to do is walk home in the October drizzle.

Price First covers journeys across Torquay and Paignton, helping local people get to work, appointments, shops, restaurants and all the ordinary places that keep life moving.

Whether it’s a carefully planned journey or one of those days when plans change completely, you can arrange your taxi through the app or speak to our local team.

October has arrived, bringing darker evenings, colder mornings and the annual debate over whether it’s too early to put the heating on.

To add a little treat to the month, you can receive £3 off two separate journeys when you book and pay by card through the Price First App.

Simply enter promo code SPOOKY when making your booking. You’ll have two chances to use it, whether that’s for a journey into town, a lift home after an evening out or something slightly less exciting but equally useful.

T&Cs: Valid from 01/10/26 at 00:01 until 28/10/26 at 23:59. Maximum two uses per customer during the promotional period. One promotional code per booking. Valid for in-app bookings with in-app card payment. Offer may be withdrawn at any time. Not available to PFT/RAVEN staff or drivers.
