🚴‍♂️💙 300 Miles Completed… But This Journey Isn’t Over Yet! 💙🚴‍♂️

Well… I did it! 🎉🥳

When I started this challenge at the beginning of June, I wasn’t quite sure what I’d let myself in for. There were moments when the weather wasn’t on my side, my legs questioned my life choices, and even the technology decided to have a little disagreement with my fundraising page! 😅

But thanks to all of your incredible support, I’m so happy to say that I’ve now completed 300.46 miles! 🚴‍♂️🎉

Even more importantly, together we’ve raised an amazing £390.00 for Prostate Cancer Research! 💙

I honestly can’t thank you all enough.

Whether you’ve donated, shared my posts, cheered me on, asked how I was getting on, waved as I cycled past, or simply believed in what I was doing… thank you. Every message, every pound and every bit of encouragement has kept me pedalling.

For those who know me through Uckfield Private Hire, you’ve probably noticed that my blue taxi has been carrying a bike on the roof more often than not lately! 🚖🚴‍♂️😄

But here’s the exciting bit…

Although I’ve completed my 300-mile challenge, I’m not stopping here!

I made myself a promise that I’ll continue cycling one mile for every pound raised for this fantastic cause.

So, with £390.00 raised so far…

🚴‍♂️ My next target is another 90 miles!

This challenge has always been about more than cycling. It’s about remembering my dad, supporting life-saving prostate cancer research, and hopefully helping other families in the future.

🚴‍♂️💙 300 Miles in June – Final Week Update! 💙🚴‍♂️

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening – depending on when you see this! 😄

Well, we’ve officially entered the 4th and final week of my 300 Miles in June Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research, and what a journey it has been so far!

Firstly, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, shared the page, sent encouraging messages, asked for updates, or simply cheered me on. Your support genuinely means a lot and helps keep me going when the sofa starts making very attractive offers! 😅

I think many of you can probably spot me around Uckfield these days. The blue taxi is still working hard, but it now spends a lot of its time carrying a bike on the roof. I suspect some people are beginning to think I’m actually a cyclist who occasionally drives a taxi! 🚖🚴‍♂️😂

A quick note regarding the fundraising page:
Unfortunately, not all of my rides appear automatically on JustGiving. The communication between Strava and the fundraising page hasn’t always worked as it should, so some rides haven’t been recorded there. Rest assured, every mile is being tracked and counted, even if technology occasionally decides to go for a ride of its own! 🤦‍♂️😄

For those who don’t know, I’m taking on this challenge in memory of my father and to support the incredible work carried out by Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation helps fund vital research and supports families affected by this disease.

With just 73.78 miles left, the finish line is finally coming into sight. The bike is loving it, my legs are still negotiating their contract, and I’m starting to think I should have challenged myself to drive 300 miles instead! 😆

🚴‍♂️ Challenge Update: The Driver Is Making Progress… Even If Technology Didn’t at First!

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening, depending on when you see this! 😄

It’s time for another update on my 300 Miles in June Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research.

First of all, I need to make it clear, on 1st June, there seems to have been a small disagreement between my recording gadget and my JustGiving page. 🤦‍♂️😅

While I was happily cycling away, the technology wasn’t quite as enthusiastic and some of the miles didn’t make it onto the fundraising page. Which means my actual progress is not showing properly.

So, where am I now?

🚴‍♂️ 168.10 miles completed
🎯 131.90 miles remaining

Not bad for someone whose usual exercise involves moving a suitcase from the pavement into the boot! 😄

The really amazing news is that together we’ve now raised an incredible £340.00 for Prostate Cancer Research. 💙

To everyone who has donated, shared the page, sent messages of support, asked how the challenge is going, or simply smiled and waved when you’ve seen a blue taxi driving around with a bike strapped to the roof, thank you!

I genuinely appreciate every bit of support.

For those who don’t know, I’m taking on this challenge in memory of my father and to support the fight against prostate cancer. Every pound raised helps fund vital research and hopefully improve outcomes for families facing this disease in the future.

I have now passed the halfway mark, which is great news. But I still have 131.90 miles to go before the end of June! 😆

The bike seems very pleased with this arrangement. My legs, however, would like to file an official complaint and request fewer hills in East Sussex. 🚴‍♂️⛰️😂

The challenge continues until 30th June, so there is still plenty of time to support the cause if you would like to.

🚴‍♂️ Challenge Update – The Driver Is Still Pedalling! 🚴‍♂️

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening, depending on when you see this! 😄

Started a week ago, I swapped occasionally my trusty blue taxi for a bicycle and set myself a challenge to cycle 300 miles during June in support of Prostate Cancer Research.

Well, after the first 7 days, I’m pleased to report that I’ve completed 93.48 miles! 🎉🚴‍♂️

That means I only have… 🤔

🚴‍♂️ 206.52 miles still to go!

Suddenly, 300 miles doesn’t sound quite as clever an idea as it did when I signed up! 😅

I believe many of you can probably spot me around town more often now, not because of the taxi sign on top of my car, but because there’s usually a bike on top of it instead! 🚴‍♂️😅

🚴‍♂️💙 300 Miles. One Bike. One Challenge. One Important Cause. 💙🚴‍♂️

Most of you know me as Tamas from Uckfield Private Hire, the one usually sitting behind the steering wheel! 😄

Well, this June I’m swapping four wheels for two (occasionally ☺️) and taking on a challenge that is very close to my heart:

🚴‍♂️ Cycling 300 miles in support of Prostate Cancer Research.

Sadly, my late father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He fought it bravely and beat the cancer itself, but by the time it was discovered, it had already spread elsewhere.

I’m taking on this challenge in his memory and to help support the incredible work being done to improve diagnosis, treatment and outcomes for men and their families affected by prostate cancer.

Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime?

That’s why I’ve decided to step out of my comfort zone, get on the bike, and hopefully make a small difference.

Usually I spend my days driving hundreds of miles for my customers. Now I’ll be pedalling them instead! I have a feeling my legs might be less comfortable about this idea than I am… 😄

Uckfield Private Hire - 4 Years Already!

Tamas here, again. ☺️

It’s hard to believe, but the 4th anniversary of Uckfield Private Hire is just around the corner… honestly, it feels like it all started yesterday (just with slightly fewer miles on the clock 😄).
