With a supersized atrium and a lagoon-like pool, the Melia Benidorm proves bigger is better.

The Melia Benidorm is right in the centre of the resort, only a 10-minute walk from Levante Beach. Vines and flowers adorn the atrium’s pillars and balconies, mixing natural and modern themes.

Thatched parasols and palm trees line the pool terrace if you’d rather cool off at the hotel. You’ll have three bars to choose from, two of which stay open until late at night.

About the Hotel
You’ll find the Xperience St. George Homestay in a quiet spot, just outside the centre of Sharm el Sheikh. This means it makes the perfect spot for a relaxing break that’s not far from the action – or the beach! The hotel actually has its own private stretch of hourglass-fine sand – the free shuttle bus will get you there in less than 10 minutes. Back at the hotel itself, you’ll find a pair of large outdoor pools, and a smaller swimming spot reserved for little ones.

When you’re not soaking up the sun on the beach or by the pool, you can get involved with games of water polo, volleyball and ping pong. Alternatively, head to the health club and book in for some pampering treatments, or work out in the gym. Between the kids’ club and the outdoor playground, there’s plenty to keep kids entertained, too.

When it comes to food, you’re in luck. La Princesse buffet restaurant dishes up tasty international food for breakfast, lunch and dinner – there’s plenty of choice. For drinks, head to one of the two poolside bars, or take a seat at the Rendez-Vous lobby bar
