Hello All, Today was our MLV/CEPs running day. Midweek we hosted the Appleby Rotary Club members who visited us for an evening train ride. More work took place over the weekend in the yard on the new siding build up and flat bottom rails relay project . Two more rails were dragged into place for the siding and a start was made on positioning the concrete sleepers for the relay of the southern through road in the yard with a total of 12 concrete sleepers now in position. Next weekend with it being bank holiday weekend, we will be open on both Sunday & Monday running trains with our class 205 Thumper DMU the motive power for both days. Hello Everyone, A slightly quieter day passenger wise today than previous Sundays . Work continued in the yard with the build up of the next 60 foot panel of track for the new storage siding .Bullhead rails and timber sleepers were lifted from the South side through running line in the yard for use on the new storage siding, and this section of through running line is going to be relaid on flat bottom rail on concrete sleepers, which are now in position along side. .Then after the last Train of the day a shunt of stock was undertaken to position the MLV/CEPs combination into the Station Platform for next Sundays running day. Hello all, May day bank holiday was quite busy with all 6 trains running .The weather was better than Sunday ,the bluebells are all in flower in Wild Boar cutting and we also had a pair of Roe Deer hopping about in the cutting . Here's a few photo's from yesterday with the 3pm train in Wild Boar cutting.

Hello all ,Today we had a very busy morning with good passenger numbers on the first two trains of the day ,but a much quieter afternoon. More work was done on the new siding installation in the yard with the first 60 foot panel of track having its rails laid in the chairs and keyed up. More ballasting down the line was done during the week. We are open tomorrow and running trains with it being May day bank holiday Monday. Here are a few photo's from today.

Just a quick update, 37 042 has left Warcop today to go to its new home .With respect to the owner we are not in a position to announce its new location. I'm sure its new home will be made known by the owner in due course .

Hello All, A nice warm sunny day at Warcop today .We had quite a few passengers today for our first running day of 2026 of the MLV / 4CEP train. Work continued in the yard on the new storage siding where two 60 foot rails were dragged into position and laid at the side of the timber sleepers with chairs that were laid out ready for the first 60 foot panel of track from the point work.

Hello Everyone ,a much quieter day today at Warcop after the busy Easter weekend. More ground preparation work was done in the yard for the first panel of track to be laid on the new storage siding from the point work, as you can see work is still progressing with the point work build up .If anyone out there could help us locate a few special point chairs as we need to replace a broken one and a few missing ones. We are looking for a 2PLB Chair and a 3PLB & 3PRB and 4PLB & 4PRB chairs if any one knows where any are for sale, maybe at other heritage railways etc . These chairs are the larger double rail chairs similar to the one in the photo.

Hello All, hot of the press we can now announce our latest journal / magazine is available, after an absence of a few years. The magazine is available for purchase at the price of £3.00 from our Buffet Stop Cafe Coach at Warcop Station. All current members of the railway should have received theirs in the post, along with their membership renewal documents and an update letter from the Chair .

The First running days of 2026 coincided with the Easter Vintage Vehicle Rally in held Kirkby Stephen & Brough on the Saturday & Sunday .Our Friends from Workington Transport Heritage Trust provided the shuttle bus between Brough & Warcop Station with a different vintage bus on both days .Our Thanks and appreciation go to Alistair who organised this and drove the buses on both days who is also a long time member of the Eden Valley Railway. The weather wasn't too good on Saturday but at least storm Dave passed through overnight without any damage .We had good numbers of passengers on all three days with Sunday being the busiest. Our Next Train service will be at 11am on Sunday 12th April .
