Good morning customers!

Since Black Friday delivery numbers have been extremely high. I have been supporting my colleagues in Cottingley and Keighley. I have also been working the past couple of Sundays- some of you have been very surprised to see me at unusual times!

We do our best to get your parcels to you when we receive them but with numbers as high as they are in the moment often there aren't enough hours in the day. Carrying a parcel forward without visiting a property is not done lightly.

On occasion I have had customers comment that they received an email that I attempted their delivery the day before. This is due to a glitch in the Hermes notification system which says a delivery was attempted when it is carried forward for any reason whatsoever.

We couriers are trying to work with Hermes to get this system fault rectified. We are also doing all we can to keep up with demand and get your parcels to you safe and sound in as timely a manner as possible.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding at this busy time of year. It is appreciated.

Hello,

There has been a change to the way Hermes process the returns I collect for you.

What it boils down to is that if there's a "Parcel shop" 16 digit bar-code to stick on, I now need to scan this for *all* retailers I return to. I can also pick up parcels to send back to a wider range of retailers, including all the ones that used to be parcel shop only.

When applying the return bar-code, the important thing is to cover up the outgoing bar-code (if I didn't do it with my yellow sticker!) Leaving your address visible is fine, and may help at the receiving end.
