BAD WEATHER POSTPONEMENT – THRUXTON TRIPLE CHALLENGE

With a truly bad weather forecast for the coming weekend, participating airfields have agreed to postpone the Triple Challenge Competition on 29th and 30th August. The event will now run on the weekend of 3rd and 4th October (provisional).

If you have already entered then you are invited to retain your entry for the new dates, if you are unable to compete then please contact us through the event WhatsApp group. Fingers crossed for some wonderful September sunshine. Thank you for supporting our sponsors and charity beneficiaries of this event.

Calling all GA pilots: Are you ready for the Thruxton Triple Challenge?

Three Hampshire airfields are teaming up over the August Bank Holiday weekend (29th–30th August) for a flying competition supporting the aviation charity Aerobility.

The Mission: Fly into all three airfields over the two-day window and tackle a unique flying challenge at each stop:

🏁 Thruxton Aerodrome (EGHO): Precision Taxi Challenge
🎯 Popham Airfield (EGHP): Spot Landing Competition
⏱️ Solent Airport / Daedalus (EGHF): Timed Arrival Competition

Key Details: Entry Fee: £35 - covers all 3 landing fees + a £10 charity donation directly to Aerobility.

Prizes: Competition awards plus a free prize draw for 150 litres of Avgas!

Facilities: Catering and overnight camping available at both Thruxton and Popham.

Whether you're looking for a fun local flying weekend or flying in from further afield, it’s a great way to brush up on your piloting skills and support accessible aviation.

The weather affected many people's plans to fly into our last BBQ evening of the year, but we still welcomed lots of visitors by road, and a good few by air.

Clear the skies and fire up the grill - it’s BBQ night at Popham this Thursday!

Join us for an evening of good food, great company, and plenty of runway action. Whether you're landing on three wheels or riding/driving in on two or four, everyone is welcome.

When: This Thursday evening from 5pm.

Visiting Pilots: Standard overhead joins / PPR as usual via the Popham website or radio.

Come and enjoy some golden hour flying, grab a bite, and catch up with fellow aviation enthusiasts.
