REMOS utilised to minimise disruption during exam season on Ashburton Road.

To help keep disruption to a minimum during the exam periods, an active REMOS site on Ashburton Road, Devon was asked to prioritise inbound traffic while utility works were underway.

Unlike standard portable signals, REMOS gives us real flexibility. With live monitoring and interventions, our operators can adjust priorities as traffic builds, supporting students travelling to school at the times it matters most.

This meant we could adapt signal timings throughout the day, keeping traffic flowing more efficiently while the works remained in place.

A great collaborative effort from all involved.

We’re looking for Trainee Technicians to join our teams in Birmingham, Carlisle and Cumbernauld, respectively.

This is an active, practical role where no two days are the same. You’ll be out on customer sites delivering and setting up portable traffic lights, carrying out battery exchanges, inspecting equipment, and helping keep our hire fleet running smoothly.

What you’ll need:

✔ Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
✔ A practical, safety-first mindset
✔ Confidence working independently and as part of a team
✔ Willingness to learn and get stuck in
✔ Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors

Last week, Urban64 was installed on Church Street, Rotherham as part of a one-week trial for proposed permanent traffic signal infrastructure 🚦

With its ability to replicate permanent signal operation - alongside being the only intelligent temporary system to utilise MOVA (Microprocessor Optimised Vehicle Actuation) - Urban64 was selected to provide a proof of concept for improved junction safety and traffic flow ahead of permanent installation.
