❗️Shenzhen Lockdown Due to Covid-19 Cases - Supply Chain Delays❗️
Shenzhen’s government ordered the citywide lockdown on Sunday after reporting 66 new COVID cases that day, bringing the southern Chinese city's total to over 400 since late February. The lockdown is scheduled to last a week, during which time health authorities say they will test every resident three times

“More cities may follow the practice of Shenzhen,” said Raymond Yeung, chief economist for Greater China at ANZ, in a note Monday, noting the city’s decision to shut down public transportation and prevent people from leaving or entering. “If the lockdown is extended, China’s economic growth will be significantly affected.”

** Felixstowe Weather Warning ** 17/02/2022

Please be advised that the current forecast for today indicates that our yard operation may be intermittently affected between 11:00 and 12:00 Hrs today. We are expecting to operate as normal throughout the rest of today through to 05:00 Hrs on Friday.

The forecast for storm Eunice on Friday indicates that the Port will be closed to container traffic from 05:00 Hrs throughout the weekend and into Monday, although there is still some uncertainty in the forecast for Saturday.

All bookings from 05:00 Hrs to 23:00 Hrs tomorrow have been removed and bookings through to 18:00 Hrs on Monday have been restricted. Booking availability during these time periods will be reviewed pending forecast updates.

For safety reasons the Port is forecast to be closed to container traffic from 05:00 Hrs tomorrow and vehicles will be refused entry at the Police gates.

In line with local government travel warnings we would urge all hauliers to avoid travelling to the Port without a confirmed booking.

UK homes overshadowed by monstrous shipping container from China - The Panama-registered ship called into port in Singapore, Egypt and Morocco on its latest voyage, after travelling 82,002 nautical miles last year.

It left Yantian on January 2 this year, before making a trip spanning 35 days.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, there have been global supply chain issues as ports deal with a backlog of containers.

Felixstowe has set a new record for the number of containers offloaded in 1 hour!!

According to The Load Star "Current productivity levels at the UK’s largest box port – 23,773 teu is around 14,000 boxes. According to AIS data, the vessel was alongside in Felixstowe for 129 hours, so that’s an average of 110 box moves an hour."

Felixstowe Congestion and Cancelled Port Calls - Felixstowe sees the most call cancellations of European box ports

Carriers are skipping port calls as they seek to avoid congestion and restore schedule reliability. Europe’s top ports all saw vessel calls decrease as schedules were revised

FELIXSTOWE, the UK’s largest container port, has had most vessel calls cancelled of any European port, as carriers seek to avoid those terminals affected by congestion.

Figures from Alphaliner comparing actual ship calls with pro forma schedules for the period from July to December show that almost one third of Felixstowe’s calls were omitted.
