✨ STATEMENT REGARDING NO AIR FESTIVAL AT BOLESWORTH CASTLE ✨
First and foremost, we’d like to apologise to any customers who experienced long delays or were unable to get their taxi as planned. We completely understand how frustrating that was.
However, we’d also like to provide some context regarding the challenges faced by our drivers and the wider taxi trade on the night.
The delays were not caused by Apollo Taxis or our drivers at our sister companies.
They were the result of severe traffic congestion and traffic management arrangements around the festival site, which significantly restricted access for all public transport vehicles.
A one-way system was implemented for drop-offs and pick-ups, resulting in many drivers becoming trapped in stationary traffic for several hours. Some drivers left well in advance of their bookings but still found themselves unable to reach customers due to the volume of traffic and limited access routes.
In some cases, drivers spent over four hours attempting to reach the festival site, only to discover that understandably frustrated customers had made alternative arrangements or chosen to walk home.
It’s important to remember that when this happens, drivers lose valuable working hours, fuel, and income despite doing everything possible to reach their passengers.
We appreciate that customers were frustrated, but we ask that people consider the circumstances before criticising individual drivers or taxi companies. The difficulties experienced on the night were beyond the control of the drivers on the ground, who were working incredibly hard to serve customers in extremely challenging conditions.
The frustration was shared by customers, drivers, and operators alike.
We thank everyone for their patience and understanding, and we’d like to recognise the efforts of all drivers who worked tirelessly throughout the evening under very difficult circumstances.
