Most HGVs are now eligible for a temporary £1 vehicle tax rate for 12 months when taxed between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027.

EU Transport Rules Are Changing for Van Operators

From 1 July 2026, vans between 2.5 and 3.5 tonnes carrying goods internationally for hire or reward will be subject to new EU transport regulations.

Key requirements include:
✅ Smart Tachograph installation
✅ Compliance with drivers’ hours and rest rules
✅ Additional record-keeping and compliance obligations

If your business carries out international transport within the EU, it’s important to ensure you’re prepared for these changes before the deadline.
