When photographer and Inntraveller Anna Moores set out to walk our routes in Slovenia's Julian Alps, we knew we'd be treated to some beautiful photography on her return.

Slovenia has a wonderful way of surprising people. Many travellers arrive with Lake Bled at the top of their list, but often leave talking about the quieter moments instead: a peaceful meadow, a hidden gorge, a majestic mountain view that stopped them in their tracks, or a warm welcome in a small village. Our walking holidays in the Julian Alps weave together both the iconic sights, like Lake Bled and the lesser-known corners.

Our top tip: book your visit sooner rather than later for best availability!

"Lake Constance is a hidden gem to those not in the know. Whilst Germans have been holidaying here for decades, it's no wonder they wanted to keep it all to themselves. The buzz of the towns, the colourful gardens, the inviting blue waters and the gentle walking are some of the many things you can enjoy here. Überlingen was my particular favourite from exploring the town & spotting a zeppelin hovering over the lake, to watching the sunset to the sound of a saxophonist all whilst a brave beaver swum by. Earlier this year, Amber joined a group of colleagues on a visit to Lake Constance. If it's not somewhere you've considered before, it might just surprise you. With beautiful flower-filled gardens, peaceful lakeside trails, and ever-changing views across the water, it's a destination that's easy to fall in love with.

Galicia in the northwest of Spain is famous for its rolling green countryside, the timeless city of Santiago de Compostela, and the historic Caminos that lead there, but for our destination expert, Malcolm, the local food is ‘up there with some of the best in the world.’
