MARKETING OFFICER – DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Role Summary
The Marketing Officer will be responsible for promoting the company’s pharmaceutical products, building strong customer relationships, and driving sales growth within assigned territories. The officer must have a strong background in marketing, preferably with experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and must be able to travel within areas such as Dansoman, Kasoa, Achimota, and their environs.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Marketing
• Promote and market pharmaceutical products to pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, and distributors.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase product visibility and sales.
• Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and emerging trends.
• Generate leads and convert them into long-term clients.
• Represent the company during field marketing activities, product demos, promotions, and campaigns.
B. Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and customers.
• Provide product information, guidance, and support to clients.
• Follow up on client inquiries, orders, and feedback in a timely manner.
• Maintain excellent customer service and retain existing clients.
C. Territory & Field Work
• Work within assigned locations: Dansoman, Kasoa, Achimota, and surrounding areas.
• Identify and visit potential sales points within the territory.
• Ensure effective coverage of the area to meet monthly targets.
• Gather field intelligence and report market challenges or opportunities to management.
D. Reporting & Administration
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
• Track performance against set targets.
• Report competitor activities and market conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of client visits, sales, and product feedback.
3. Qualifications & Requirements
• Degree in Marketing or related field.
• Must have worked with a pharmaceutical company (experience is key).
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical market and product categories.
• Must know how to drive.
• Must have a valid Driving License B.
• Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Must live in or around: Dansoman, Kasoa, Achimota, or nearby locations.
4. Compensation
• Salary: GHS 1,500 monthly.
• Bonuses: Available based on performance and sales target achievements.
