Letâs see who knows The Gambia beyond the beaches! I'm standing in a place where the river whispers, monkeys judge your balance, and one wrong step means⌠a very wet selfie. đđŚ
Last week, we trekked deep into a hidden 1,000-acre sanctuary just off the Gambia River. No busy roads. No crowds. Just dense forest, winding trails, birds calling from the trees, and the occasional rustle that made me stop and look twice.
Our guide just smiled and said, âDonât worry if you hear it before you see it. Youâre safe.â
Then he pointed at a wooden bridge swaying over a tidal creek⌠and told me to cross it while he filmed.
Would you have crossed? đ
Here are 3 clues to guess where we were:
đż Clue 1: A private ecotourism reserve with five different ecosystems, from mangroves to savannah.
đś Clue 2: You can take a traditional dugout canoe along a quiet bolong and spot kingfishers, monitor lizards and, if you're lucky, even a shy otter.
đĽ Clue 3: After exploring, visitors can enjoy live drumming, local crafts and a Gambian buffet beneath open-air thatched roofs.
So⌠where do you think this is? đ
