Kishul is a staple food of Northern Italy. A mini pancake made with buckwheat and cheese, sprinkled with sugar on top 😁 😋 Here is a quick sticks recipe for you to try at home...Nonna style 🇮🇹
Ingredients
1 part buckwheat flour to 1 part plain flour 🌻
Enough warm water so it's not too thick nor too thin 💦
Salt to taste 🧂
A few drops of quality olive oil 🏺
Jarlsburg cheese (diced) 🧀
Method
Mix flour, water, salt and olive oul together, add cheese in to mixture and stir. Heat up olive oil in pan. Once hot, scoop mixture in to the pan and cook until golden on either side and until the cheese melts inside. Take off pan and repeat. Serve with a side salad of Chicory, Cabbage or Lettuce, sprinkle some sugar on top of the Kishul to counteract the bitterness of the chicory or cabbage. Enjoy with a nice 🍷
Very simple and only takes 20 minutes 😁 Let me know how you go! .
