Stefanos Seitan Beach—or Seitan Limania Beach—in Chania, Crete, is one of three coves formed by the sea in the Akrotiri area. The name is of Turkish origin, dating back to the period of Ottoman rule on the island, and means "devilish" (Devil's/Cursed Harbors). This designation stems from the dangerous wave conditions in the area.
The location is also known as Agios Raphael—named after the church situated where the gorge begins—and as Agios Spyridonas, after the old chapel built into the rock face there. The beach features a mix of sand and pebbles, and due to its inaccessible location, it has only recently become a widely known and popular destination.

Melidoni Cave

The Melidoni Cave (also known as Gerontospilios) is a historically and archaeologically significant cave in Crete, located 2 km from the village of Melidoni. Standing at an altitude of 220 meters, it features stunning stalactite formations and served as a sacred site and tragic historical sanctuary.
Minoan & Roman Eras: The cave was a place of worship starting in Neolithic times. Legend links it to the bronze giant Talos. In Roman times, it was used as a sanctuary for Taleos Hermes.
The 1824 Tragedy: During the Greek War of Independence, the cave became a shelter for hundreds of local women, children, and a few warriors hiding from Ottoman troops. In January 1824, following a 3-month siege, the Ottomans lit a fire at the cave's entrance, suffocating the 370 inhabitants trapped inside.

Lake Kournas

Lake Kournas is a lake on the island of Crete, Greece, near the village of Kournas. It is in the Apokoronas municipality of Chania regional unit close to the border with Rethymno regional unit, 47 km from the town of Chania. Kournas is a fairly large village perched on a hill overlooking the lake.

Crete's only freshwater lake, Lake Kournas, is relatively large, with a perimeter of 3.5 km. There is a nature preserve on the Southwest side of the lake. There is a rustic road from the North of the lake to the Hills on the West of the lake.

The lake used to be called Koresia after ancient Korion, a city thought to be in the area with a temple to Athena. The lake used to contain eels but now is better known for its terrapins and tourism. Tavernas and pedalo rental shops are located along part of the lake's shore.
