ANNOUNCEMENT, CLARIFICATION & WARNING

The Embassy of Greece wishes to announce that, contrary to disinformation in social media, it has no affiliation or link to the company Adam Travel and Tourism and its employees, nor to any other private travel agency or tourism office in Syria. Appointments and Schengen visa applications processed by Adam Travel and Tourism or any other office for their customers are not given any priority nor facilitated over regular visa applications. Each visa application is processed on its own merit based on the supporting documents submitted and the interview process. The Embassy warns travellers to Greece that the practice of certain travel agencies to request from customers the payment of huge sums as “guarantees of return” is an illegal practice by Syrian law and these sums may be confiscated by the authorities while the travel agency and involved customers may be prosecuted. Moreover, requests from travel agencies for the payment of these “guarantees of return” by customers in no way facilitates the visa application procedure or the granting of the visa.

تودُّ سفارة اليونان أن تعلن، خلافًا للمعلومات المضللة المتفشية في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، أنه ليس لها أي ارتباط أو صلة بشركة آدم للسفر والسياحة ولا بأي من موظفيها، مثلما ليس لها ارتباط أو صلة بأي وكالة سفر أخرى أو مكتب سياحي خاص في سوريا. إن حجز المواعيد ومعاملة تأشيرة شنغن التي تتولَّاها شركة آدم للسفر والسياحة أو أي مكتب آخر بتكليف من عملاء لا يمنح ملفات هؤلاء العملاء أي أولوية ولا يقدمها على طلبات التأشيرة النظامية التي يقوم بها المواطنون بأنفسهم. وتوضح السفارة أن كل طلب تأشيرة يقيَّم على أساس جدارته بناءً على المستندات والثبوتيات الداعمة المقدَّمة وعلى فحوى المقابلة مع العميل. لذا تحذر السفارة المسافرين إلى اليونان من أن قيام بعض وكالات السفر بمطالبة العملاء بدفع مبالغ ضخمة كـ"ضمانات عودة" هي ممارسة غير قانونية بموجب القانون السوري، وقد تبادر السلطات المعنية إلى مصادرة هذه المبالغ، في حين قد تتعرض وكالة السفر والعملاء المتورطون في هذه الممارسة للمقاضاة. علاوة على ذلك، فإن فرض مكاتب السفر والسياحة على عملائها دفع "ضمانات العودة" هذه لا يسهل بأي حال من الأحوال إجراءات طلب التأشيرة، ولا يضمن منحها بتاتًا.
