Hidden beneath the crystal-clear waters off Kefalonia lies HMS Perseus, a British submarine that sank during World War II.

Today it has become one of Greece's most remarkable wreck dives—not only because of the wreck itself, but because of the incredible story of the submarine's sole survivor.

We explored the wreck together with the fantastic team from Blue Manta Diving & Aquanautic Club, whose experience around Kefalonia always makes these dives unforgettable.

We're excited that this is just the beginning. In 26 September – 3 October 2026, we'll be running a special Sail & Dive Week together with Blue Manta. With one of their dive guides staying aboard Katja for the entire week, we'll be able to dive directly from the yacht and visit sites that are beyond the range of most dive centres.

We'll share more details soon!

At first glance, it looks like an ordinary harbour. Then you notice a shadow moving beneath the surface...
These are loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) swimming in the harbour of Kyparissia, Greece. We spent the evening watching them cruise through the bay, grazing and surfacing just metres from our boat. Moments like these are why we love slow travel by sailboat.

Sailing south of Zakynthos towards Pylos, making good progress upwind at over 6 knots, when this lively pod decided to join us.

What started as a normal passage quickly turned into a front-row seat for dolphin antics: jumping, surfing our bow wave, barrel rolls, and what looked suspiciously like showing off.

It's hard not to smile when the sea sends you company like this.
