A strong first half of 2026 for the Port of Rhodes and the South Dodecanese! ⚓

From 1 January to 30 June 2026, our ports welcomed:

🚢 133 Cruise Ships
👥 172,711 Cruise Passengers
⛴️ 149,273 Ferry Passengers travelling to and from Türkiye

These figures reflect the growing importance of the South Dodecanese as a leading maritime gateway in the Eastern Mediterranean, supporting tourism, local businesses, and regional connectivity.

The Municipal Port Fund of South Dodecanese remains committed to enhancing port infrastructure, improving passenger experience, and working closely with our partners to ensure sustainable growth across our islands.

A historic milestone for the Municipal Port Fund of South Dodecanese as its membership in the prestigious MedCruise was officially confirmed during the 68th General Assembly in Palermo, a landmark edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the association.

It was a great honor to represent the Municipal Port Fund of South Dodecanese and present our destination portfolio, highlighting the unique cruise and maritime tourism potential of Rhodes, Karpathos, Symi, Halki, Tilos, Kastellorizo and Kasos to cruise industry leaders from across the Mediterranean.

This important achievement strengthens the international presence of our islands within the cruise sector and creates new opportunities for collaboration, promotion, sustainable growth, and the development of cruise tourism throughout the South Dodecanese.

A sincere thank you to the Board of Directors of the Municipal Port Fund of South Dodecanese, President Vasileios Vagianakis, and all those who contributed to making this strategic step a reality.

The President of the Municipal Port Fund of South Dodecanese, Mr. Vasilis Vagianakis, together with the Maritime Tourism Development Consultant of the Port Fund, Mr. Anastasios Konstantaros, participated in the Panhellenic Yachting Congress 2026, contributing to the national dialogue on the future of yachting and maritime tourism in Greece.

The Congress highlighted the growing importance of the sector for the Greek economy, as well as key developments including institutional reforms, digitalization of procedures, and a €260 million investment program for port infrastructure upgrades.

The ports of the South Dodecanese continue to strengthen their strategic role in positioning Greece as a leading yachting destination in the Mediterranean, supporting sustainable growth and high-quality maritime tourism.

Το 2025 αποτυπώνει ξεκάθαρα μια νέα δυναμική για την κρουαζιέρα, με αύξηση τόσο στις προσεγγίσεις όσο και στους επιβάτες, αλλά κυρίως με ποιοτικά καλύτερη κατανομή μέσα στο έτος.
