“An effective regulatory framework evolves alongside technology, industry, and society. The discussions in Brussels reinforced my optimism that the positive environmental results achieved so far will continue to guide future decisions and at e:misia, we are always glad to bring evidence and analysis to the table. It was great to exchange views with experts, policymakers, and stakeholders on how the sector is evolving, and on the challenges ahead, particularly in relation to innovation, emerging propulsion technologies, and future environmental priorities. Looking forward to the next steps of the evaluation and the continued dialogue!”
Our Managing Director, Giorgos Mellios, contributed last week to the DG GROW Expert Group Meeting on the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) in Brussels.
At e:misia, we supported the evaluation by assessing the environmental impacts of the Directive, focusing on emissions reductions and their monetised health benefits. Our analysis confirms that the updated emission standards deliver clear net environmental benefits over time, driven primarily by significant reductions in NOx and particulate matter.
This is e:misia for smarter legislation!
