A ship won't wait for a delivery. And the port has its own rules.

Supplying a cruise ship involves much more than getting a truck to the port.

There are designated delivery slots, strict port procedures, security checks, seals, proof of delivery documents and, where required, veterinary certificates.

The cargo itself adds another layer of responsibility. Chilled and frozen products may need to travel together, which calls for the right bi-temperature equipment and careful coordination.

A delay, a missing document or a detail overlooked can complicate the entire delivery.

Some things are scarier than Halloween. Like trying to find an available booking slot.

One delayed unloading can affect the whole plan:
Drivers waiting longer than expected.
Delivery schedules falling behind.
The next loading suddenly becoming a race against time.

And our dispatchers? Calling, checking, chasing and trying to make all the pieces fit. 😅

In logistics, getting a booking is one thing. Getting the timing right is another.

📊 Change W12 → W41: +10.12%
⬇️ Latest weekly change: -4.04%

After reaching its highest point in Week 40, the price has now moved down by €0.09/L.

What happens when transport is part of a food safety audit?
The first you might think is that the truck is checked for cleanliness.

However, depending on the operation, auditors may look at things like:
• Is the vehicle suitable for food transport?
• Are cleaning procedures documented?
• Are temperature records available and complete?
• Is the cargo properly protected and separated?
• Can the shipment be traced through the relevant documents?

For food companies, transport is one more point in the chain where something can go wrong, so it needs its own controls and records.
HACCP, ISO 22000 and food safety procedures guide the process from the warehouse door and follow the product throughout its journey on the road.

Grape season is one of those periods when timing becomes especially important. 🍇

The grapes may spend months getting ready for harvest.

Then suddenly, everything moves quickly:

Harvest.
Sorting.
Packing.
Loading.
Transport.
Delivery.

For exporters, the goal is to get the product where it needs to go while there's still plenty of quality and shelf life left.

That means good coordination between the people at the packing facility, the exporter, the carrier and the logistics team.

We're in the middle of another grape season and we're moving Greek produce towards markets across Europe.
