Short visit in Guatemala City before returning family in the states! The central market did not disappoint and neither did the local cuisine😍😍 Surprise plans while in bed in our airbnb, asked chatGPT for local events and ended up at the 40th annual tree lighting in the city center with THOUSANDS of locals!🎅🎄 The LONGEST fireworks display we’ve even seen🎆🎇next stop, the big ATL!

We departed Bay Islands, Honduras en route for Rio Dulce, Guatemala! Pods of dolphins greeting us (1) after some great meals at sea(2), but not before some typicall boat sh*t(3). Jerry rigged an aircon pump(4) after our raw water pump shaft sheared😭Seamless check in in Lexington, Guat. (5) at sunset on a Saturday! Had to go pickup our documents, paddle board (6) was the fastest before dark. Anchored at the mouth of the Rio, a portal into the jungle(7). The pump powered us upriver another 5.5 hours to Rio Dulce, our home for the foreseeable future. Caden at “husband day care”(8) making banana bread on a neighbor’s boat (8), our last dinner at anchor with great friends (9), and ISURUS driving through the yard (10) to her new hard home (11). Late night antics (12) before we fly back to the US for our first Christmas in GA in 3 years🥰 (Caden still thinks he shoulda jumped out the bar window too🤣⛵️)

The Bay Islands were quite the change from the ABCs! We arrived and didn’t see another sailboat for weeks. It was nice being the remote island of Guanaja doing lots of free diving and scuba, exploring waterfalls, and meeting new friends.

Roatan had some good food and even better friends! Trivia night with other cruisers reminded us of being back in Luperon! While hiding from hurricane Melissa in this adorable bay, the sweetest land neighbors who felt bad for us being trapped on the boat with days of rain and asked us to dinner! Well, dinner turned into a grocery run and crashing a Halloween party! 😂

We didn’t get to spend much time in Utila, but it was a beautiful little diving town with lots of cool shops and restaurants! Met some more cruisers and had them over for dinner. All in all, the Bay Islands of Honduras are a special place, and we definitely recommend checking them out! 🩵

Now time to get ready for the boat yard in Rio Dulce, Guatemala!! 🤙🏼

After a three day sail from Bequia, we finally made it to the ABC islands! These islands have always been one of our goal locations when we set out on the boat three years ago, and we finally made it! 🥳

What an amazing experience getting to go back to Bonaire where I studied abroad in college! We met some amazing people in these three little islands. From our Buckets with and , to crazy nights at Zanzibar with , .the.sailor, , , and I’m sure there are more.. We had some amazing boat night hangouts on and ! We loved all the late nights and early mornings running around with our crowd of young cruisers in Curacao. Aruba allowed us to meet back up with who we met in Dominican Republic. We also had some great times hanging out with Nick on Lola and his buddy, ! We even got to check out our honeymoon Airbnb in Aruba and go to the donkey farm and renaissance island like we did when we were on our honeymoon 7 years ago! It was so nice seeing these places again!

So many great memories were made! Too many to recount to this post, and some that should probably stay in our heads anyways 😘

Thanks ABCs for an amazing few months! 🩵

People ask us what is the hardest part about this lifestyle, and every time my answer is missing friends and family from back home. So when we have my best friends come to see us is the absolute best feeling ever! 😍 Thank you guys so much for visiting us in St. Lucia! We had the best time 🩵 See you soon!

Dominica is one amazing island! 🤩 It’s not often we splurge and rent a car to explore, but so many people told us how beautiful this island was that we decided we had to do it. We drove almost the entire island in a day! From our anchorage in Portsmouth all the way down to Scotts Head Bay, our rental took us to some beautiful places!

The Cachacrou Peninsula gave the most spectacular views of the whole island and had the MOST wind on a hilltop ever!

The double waterfall called Trafalgar is not just one, but two stunning waterfalls with lush forest all around.

Right next to our anchorage was Fort Shirley. It gave us some beautiful views of the anchorage and a bunch of cool info while exploring. The little tavern at the bottom also saved us from getting absolutely drenched by a squall that lasted almost an hour. 😂

We loved Dominica and can’t wait to go back to do some more of their hiking trails and dive spots! 🩵

Guadeloupe was a quick stop for us! While in Deshaies, we walked up a very long hill to the botanical gardens. The gardens were beautiful and full of some amazing flowers and plants. We moved a little further south to the marine park, Cousteau Reserve. We finally got some scuba diving in for the first time this season. There was an amazing wreck dive, Franjack Wreck, and a nice wall dive off of pigeon island. I already miss all the pan au Chocolat from the bakeries here… 😍

St. Kitts highlight dump! 😍
- Caden and Todd hiked a volcano!
- We drove around and explored the island
- We went to Brimstone Hill Fortress
- Snorkeled around the bay
- Found a cool beach bar

Some other stuff probably happened, too! 😂 I’m currently trying to get caught up because we are quite a few islands behind. Sorry in advance for the overload! 😁

After our extended stay in St. Martin, we sailed down to Saba for a stay of only 24 hours! It is one of the most unbelievable places we have ever been! 👀 Even with the dreary weather, the island was spectacular! The cliffs and mountains are so steep and covered in beautiful greenery. While there, we were able to walk around a small botanical garden and grab some lunch. We hitch hiked with a local named “Bossy Bossy Antony” to a trail head that led us to a sulfur mine. And when I tell you this was steep… it was STEEP! Walking back up, our heels didn’t touch the ground steep. We somehow got lucky and hitch hiked back with the same crazy guy and walk around Windwardside. We caught another ride to get closer to the dinghy, and finally had to walk down this very steep, very long mountain road in the rain back to the dinghy. Oh, and we met the cutest little bunny on the walk down! 🐰It was a long day of walking around and exploring this island. It is full of trails for hiking and plenty of underwater activities (even though we didn’t have time to do them). We would have loved to stay longer, but we had a good window to leave that night and sail to St. Kitts. Maybe we will find ourselves back here one day! 🩵

Whew! The end of April went by so fast! Saint Martin really treated us well while we were there. I’m pretty sure we kept the bakeries up and running during our six week stay 🥴 but I have zero complaints about the readily available breads and tarts and other goodies! 🥖🥐 Saint Martin will always be a favorite stop for us, and we can’t wait to go back one day. We were even able to complete some sail repairs, engine repairs, dinghy repairs… probably some other broken things got repaired… while enjoying ourselves. But there are still quite a few islands in the chain to get south for hurricane season and some friends in bound (I can’t wait to see yall 🥳) so we have to get scootin along! To all the friends we made and got to catch up with in Saint Martin 🔜 It’s never goodbye, only see ya later! 🩵

A little photo recap of our time here in Saint Martin - Sint Maarten 🩵 We caught up to some cool people , our family came, we met some new cool people , and some more cool people caught up to us & .manion! We’ve had an amazing time exploring and eating bread nonstop! 🥖🥐 I’m not sure what we will do when baguettes aren’t fresh in every store 😅

We’ve also repaired our vdrive while here. Caden had to replace some bearings that went bad and were causing our vdrive to overheat. We also made some repairs to our leaky engine! Now we are down to the original oil leak only! 😂 We are getting ready to keep moving along, but we are still enjoying our time here!
