🌿 Great progress for our environmental charity drive at Heidushan Scenic Area!

Since the site opened in April, CTG International has been running our popular “Trade cigarette butts for bottled water” campaign.
So far, we’ve collected nearly 50,000 cigarette butts, over 12,000 plastic bottles and 281 bags of litter. Nearly 24,000 free bottles of water have been handed out to visitors who took part.

Heidushan is home to stunning Gobi Yardang landscapes, but its desert environment is very delicate. Once the gravel surface is harmed, it can take decades — even a full century — to heal.

What started as a simple waste‑for‑rewards activity has grown into immersive family‑friendly eco‑experiences. Families come together to pick up trash, letting kids learn first‑hand why protecting this fragile desert matters. Many parents call it a heartfelt, meaningful way to bond with their children.

Upholding our principle of “ecological protection first, scientific and rational development”, CTG International will keep taking consistent action to safeguard this precious Gobi ecosystem.

Shapotou was once besieged by swirling sands that blotted out the sun. The people of Zhongwei wove wheat straw into one-meter-square checkerboards, locking the shifting dunes firmly in place.

This deceptively simple “sand-taming grid” has pushed the Tengger Desert back by 25 kilometers, and was hailed by the United Nations Environment Programme as “a miracle in the history of humanity’s fight against desertification.”

Today, visitors to Shapotou can lay these straw checkerboards with their own hands, experiencing first-hand this world-renowned wisdom of desert restoration.

The rugged, boundless expanse of the desert endures, but within those checkerboards, greenery is inching forward, bit by bit.

"Riding into Reflection: A Sino-French Exhibition on Equine Culture" Opens at Prince Gong’s Mansion in Beijing

The “Riding into Reflection: A Sino-French Exhibition on Equine Culture” opened on 24 August at Jiale Hall, Prince Gong’s Mansion Museum. Co‑hosted by Prince Gong’s Mansion Museum, Château de Chantilly, China Tourism Group and Hong Kong Jockey Club, the opening ceremony was attended by senior representatives from all participating organisations.

This dual‑venue exhibition will run in Beijing until November, before travelling to Tai Kwun in Hong Kong.

Deputy General Manager of China Tourism Group Jian Yi noted the show is a cross‑time civilisational dialogue themed around horses. It showcases cultural relics to trace East‑West exchanges, embodying the spirit of “harmony without uniformity and beauty shared by all”, and aligns with the 2026 International Museum Day theme “Bridges Connecting the World”.

Ahead of next year’s 30th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return, the Hong Kong leg will deliver Sino‑French artistic experiences for local and global audiences, setting a new example for cultural‑museum cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong.

A gentle breeze dispels summer heat, and all things welcome the crisp autumn.

Today marks End of Heat (Chushu), the 14th solar term in the 24‑solar‑term calendar of China. The Chinese character chǔ means “to end”. End of Heat signals the fading of sweltering summer, as most regions across China gradually embrace cool autumn days.

A long‑held custom for this solar term is eating duck, prized for its tender, rich flavour at this time of year. The period also overlaps with the Zhongyuan Festival, when people float river lanterns and pay respects to ancestors.

As summer heat recedes and autumn unfolds softly, may you discover peace and grace amid this seasonal transition🌾
