Singapore, May 27, 2025 – CommunicAsia 2025, Asia’s largest ICT exhibition, kicked off today at the Singapore Expo. As a leading satellite communications provider, APT Satellite showcased its groundbreaking “Satellite-Powered Smart Pole” and cutting-edge solutions, drawing significant attention from industry professionals on the opening day.

APT Satellite’s Spotlight:

Following its debut at CABSAT 2025, APT Satellite’s Satellite-Powered Smart Pole once again stole the show. Integrating high-throughput satellite communications, 5G base stations, and edge computing, the solution enables high-speed connectivity in remote areas—from deserts to maritime zones—without relying on terrestrial networks. Its modular design and all-weather reliability have sparked strong interest from multiple Southeast Asian telecom operators.

The booth attracted a steady stream of industry experts, media, and potential partners, underscoring APT Satellite’s growing influence. An Indonesian telecom company stated: “The Smart Pole cuts deployment costs by 70% compared to traditional towers while delivering seamless coverage—this redefines IoT connectivity.”

APT Satellite Successfully Hosts AseanConnect.One Spring Festival Stakeholder Meetup

Hong Kong SAR – February 27, 2025 – APT Satellite is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of AseanConnect.One Spring Festival Stakeholder Meetup held at APT Satellite headquarter in Hong Kong. The quarterly gathering brought together key stakeholders from leading telecom and data center providers across Southeast Asia, fostering insightful discussions, thoughts, and updates. The meetup focused on reviewing past business performance, planning for 2025, and promoting the company's satellite business to provide localized, one-stop services in Southeast Asia.

AseanConnect.One connects satellite services with data center services to offer comprehensive integrated solutions for operators and OTT platforms. The alliance members include top fiber optic companies and telecom operators from Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand. This collaboration provides a fast track for the development of satellite services in these countries. In 2024, the alliance generated inquiries for no fewer than two satellite projects and offered a comprehensive fiber optic network to deliver localized, one-stop services efficiently.

On November 26, 2024, APSTAR Alliance Satcom Limited and China Great Wall Industry Corporation held the in-orbit delivery ceremony for the APSTAR-6E satellite in Hong Kong. This ceremony marked the official delivery of the China's first fully electric propulsion communications satellite to APSTAR Alliance Satcom Limited, ushering in a new chapter of commercial operation of the satellite.

APSTAR-6E satellite was procured by APSTAR Alliance Satcom Limited, an associate company of APT Satellite, with the satellite’s operation and technical support provided by APT Satellite. Manufactured by the China Academy of Space Technology using the DFH-3E platform, APSTAR 6E is the inaugural satellite of this innovative platform. APSTAR-6E is equipped with 25 Ku-band user beams and 3 Ka-band gateway beams, and operates in collocation with the APSTAR-6C and APSTAR-6D satellites at the 134E orbital slot. With a total capacity of approximately 30Gbps, APSTAR-6E provides full coverage across Indonesia, offering cost-effective, high-throughput broadband telecommunication services and helping bridging the digital gap of Indonesia.

APSCC Grants Lifetime Achievement Award to Huang Baozhong

Mr.Huang Baozhong, the Executive Vice President of APT Satellite, has been with the company for 14 years. During this period, he has made tremendous contributions to the company's development, transforming the company into a leading satellite operator in the Asia-Pacific region. Currently APT Satellite and its associated companies jointly operate six GEO telecommunication satellites, including three with high-throughput payloads. These satellites cover Asia (including the Middle East), Australia, most parts of Africa and Europe, as well as 75% of the world's population and regions. The company's business has expanded to over 30 countries and regions, serving a diverse client base that includes renowned media companies, telcos, and satellite service providers.

Mr.Huang Baozhong has been an active participant in various industry organizations and forums, including APSCC, GSMA, AVIA, and GSOA. In these organizations, he has leveraged his exceptional charisma and deep industry insights to stand at the forefront of protecting the interests of the satellite industry.
