“It’s coming home?” ⚽🇭🇷🏴
Well… England, we may need to talk.
Today Croatia plays England — the country famous for giving the world modern football. But near the Cetina River, Croatia has its own football story dating back almost 2,000 years.
This is the tombstone of Gaius Laberius, a seven-year-old Roman boy, found at the ancient site of Tilurium near Trilj. In his hand, he holds a ball decorated with hexagons — looking surprisingly familiar to football fans today.
Because of this monument, the Cetinska Krajina region is often proudly mentioned as one of the earliest places in Europe where football-like games were played.
So tonight, when England sings “It’s coming home”, we gonna might simply say:
“Exactly. Welcome home — to Croatia.” 😄⚽🇭🇷
Good luck to both teams… but tonight, the ball knows where it belongs.
