Caught in the raw power of the ocean 🌊

This photo shows the cargo ship Ocean Breeze being slammed by massive waves after running aground during a storm on August 16, 2012, near San Antonio, Chile.

Despite weighing over 50,000 tons, the ship was no match for the sea. Strong winds caused its anchor to drag, pushing it toward shore where waves relentlessly battered it.

All 24 crew members were safely rescued by helicopter — a rare piece of good news in a dramatic situation like this.
