💡Tips & Tricks Post #6💡Moving Tip of the Day🏡
"Measure"🚪📐🏡
Before you start to order transporting your beloved furniture, there's an essential step you shouldn't overlook - measuring! 📏✨
It ensures a smooth transition of your items into your new nest. 🌟
Here's why it's crucial: You don't want to get stuck on moving day with a couch that won't fit through the front door. 😬
To get you started, follow these tips:
- Measure the width and height of every doorway your furniture will pass through - not just your front door!
- Don't forget to include hallways, staircases, and even elevator doors if applicable.
- Take three measurements for each dimension: top, middle, and bottom, then use the smallest one for accuracy.
- Remember to account for any obstacles like door handles or railings that might snag your items.
- Write down all measurements and keep them handy on moving day.
Not only should you measure the spaces in your new home, you also need measurements of your furniture.
Things to measure before a move - different furniture pieces:
- Sofas & Couches: measure the length and the diagonal depth.
- Bookcases, Wardrobes, Armoires, & Rectangular Furniture: measure the length, depth, and diagonal height from one top corner to the opposite bottom corner.
- Other Furniture Pieces: measure the width, height, and depth of your beds, dressers, chairs, tables, and any other large furniture items as well as any area rugs you may have.
Armed with knowledge and a tape measure, you'll be ready to navigate your move like a pro! 👍
