AY 01 : JAKARTA – BANDUNG (L,D)
Leaving Jakarta for Bandung via Puncak Pass with a visit to the world-class Botanic Garden known as Kebun Raya, which contains thousands of species of trees and plants. Then we proceed to Bandung, a trip through beautiful mountain panoramas and tea plantations. On the way you may visit a tea factory (except on Sundays) where you are able to have a close look of the entire production process from the picking of the tea leaves to the final consumer produce. DAY 02 : BANDUNG TOUR ( B,L,D )
After breakfast visit the “overturned Prahu” volcano crater, or Tangkuban Prahu. From its flatted and elongated summit you can have a look into the huge caldera and Ciater hotspring water. In the afternoon you will attend an angklung performance (traditional music from West Java played by talented school children). Hotel in Bandung.
DAY 03 : BANDUNG – YOGYAKARTA ( B,L,D )
Breakfast at hote. Whole day travel from Bandung to Yogyakarta. It takes about 12 hours of driving. Don't let the panoramic mountain view pass bye unnoticed! On the way you can also visit a traditional village (Kampung Naga). This village is a museum piece of Sundanese architecture and village life. Arrival in Yogyakarta early in the evening. Hotel in Yogyakarta.
DAY 04 : YOGYAKARTA TOUR ( B,L,D )
Breakfast at hotel. Today we travel to Magelang district to the magnificent Borobudur, supposedly the biggest ancient Buddhist relic of South East Asia. It was built with 60.000 cubic meters of stones and is dating from the 8th century. The temple is closely related to two other small temples, Pawon and Mendut, which you will visit as well. After return to Yogyakarta we will visit the Sultan's Palace. Then you may watch the craftsmen making their silver handicraft in Kota Gede, the silver town. In the evening you'll be served with a beautiful Ramayana dance performance. Hotel in Yogyakarta.
DAY 05 : MERAPI LAVA TOUR – SOLO ( B,L,D )
Breakfast at hotel. Morning drive to Kaliadem that probably is one of the best sites to watch Merapi Volcano from a close distance. It's about 6 km from there to its summit. This was the place where, last year, the hot lava from the crater was flowing down, setting afire warungs (eating-houses) and plantations, and burying them under the hot sands. People called Kaliadem the highway for the lava, spouting from the 2.900 m high volcano. But activity has become normal again and Kaliadem now is a famous spot, where the hidden and dangerous beauty is revealed. Just in front of us we can, at certain weather conditions, clearly see the dried rivers where the lava entered the slope of the volcano. Lunch at garden restaurant. Continued to Solo with a stop to visit Prambanan. This Hindu temple is the highest one in Indonesia, with its height of about 47 m, and supposedly erected in the 9th century. Take your time to enjoy the beauty of the Prambanan. Continued to Solo and transfer to Hotel.
DAY 06 : SOLO – BROMO ( B,L,D )
After breakfast, leaving Solo for a full day's drive to Bromo. Enroute visit Tikus & Trowulan temples. Arrival at Bromo area early in the evening. Hotel in Bromo.
DAY 07 : BROMO SUNRISE – IJEN ( B,L,D )
Early in the morning (04.00), by jeep to Pananjakan mountain. If the weather is clear you will see a wonderful sunrise in front of you. After that we will climb to the top of Bromo volcano to see the beautiful crater. Because of low temperatures at the top thick jackets are available. After breakfast at the hotel, we continue the trip to Ijen & transfer to Hotel Ijen Resort. Evening free at leisure.
DAY 08 : IJEN TREKKING – SURABAYA ( B,L,D )
Early morning depart BY JEEP to excursion to Mt. Ijen. Ijen Crater or Kawah Ijen shows a special type of volcanic feature common to Indonesia, about 1 km in diameter and 175 meters deep. The floor is covered completely by a warm lake, milky blue green in color, held back by a dam built many years ago by the Dutch, in order to keep the hot mineral, laden water from raining for the crop lands below. Trekking down the mountain to rejoin the coach and directly drive back to Surabaya and transfer to hotel.
DAY 09 : SURABAYA DEPARTURE ( B )
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for onward flight.
