Lough Swilly Ferry

Lough Swilly Ferry Summer season vehicle and passenger ferry service linking Buncrana & Rathmullan (June-September)

The Lough Swilly Ferry operates a summer season ferry service with 8 return sailings from Buncrana to Rathmullan daily from the 1st June 2022 and continuing until 18th September 2022

The service is operated by Cara na nOileán Teo. who also run the Arranmore Ferry Service between Burtonport and Arranmore Island (www.arranmoreferry.com).

⚠️ Sailing Update: Tuesday 1st September

Due to the continued low tides affecting Buncrana Slipway we have to cancel two sailings today: 2.40pm departing Rathmullan and 3.20pm departing Buncrana. All other sailings as scheduled.

As we move into September, please note that our timetable changes from Tuesday, 1st September.

📅 Our final day of service this season will be Sunday the 13th September.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has travelled with Lough Swilly Ferry this season. Your support means a lot to us. ❤️

Low tides are continuing to affect our operation today, as a result the 3:00pm departing Rathmullan and the 3:40pm departing Buncrana will unfortunately be cancelled.

The low tide conditions mean that it is not possible for the ferry to access the slipway at these times.

Service will resume from Rathmullan at 4:20pm.
