Lough Corrib Powerboat Run in aid of Cancer Care West will take place on Saturday 18/10/2025 with all boating enthusiasts invited to participate.

The Powerboat Run will capture the scenic River Corrib, Menlo Castle, Inchagoill island, Ashford Castle, Castlekirk, and Maam Valley all on the Republic of Ireland's largest lake!

A safe, fun packed & exhilarating day awaits all participants with attractions for all ages, all while rasing funds for charity.

Local knowledge and guidance will be provided over the day, consisting of about 70NM.

Departs CRYC at 09:30am.
Approx return time 18:00pm

Full parking is available at NUIG College campus car park.
A suitable slipway is provided by Corrib Rowing & Yachting Club. Please arrive in advance and allow sufficient time.

Loads of reports of outboards being stolen in the West Cork area over the last few weeks.

Some were stolen in Schull last night and more in Glandore the week before last.

Please keep an eye out for suspicious activity and contact the local Garda station if you have any information.

Finish 2024 strong. Social Powerboat Spin on Lough Ree this December 28th.

Planning to depart Coosan Point for Tarmonbarry at 10:00, aiming to arrive at Keenan’s Pub by 12:00, docking downstream of the lock. Departing Tarmonbarry at 13:45 for Sean’s Bar in Athlone and back to Coosan Point by 16:20. Storage for boats in the water and/or on their trailers available for anyone who needs it at a private facility.

Total distance is 47nm, and we are planning on 25 knots. We have 5 boats so far; another 4 or 5 boats would be ideal. After Christmas, either really suits people to get out of the house, or not at all! Call/Text/WhatsApp 087 2218706 if you’d like to join us.
