An update on our initial advisory posted yesterday morning (Wed) with a standard profile for South Leinster & Connacht with gusts of 75kmh to 115kmh with isolated damaging gusts over exposed ground coupled with pockets of power outages.
High risk area as mentioned is SW Munster and South Munster in general. Latest data suggests anywhere in a line south of to could see damaging violent gusts along coasts with gusts of 95kmh to 125kmh with stronger gusts possible (135kmh) along the **le peninsula and nearby peninsulas on Friday evening and Friday night into the early hours of Saturday morning.
As trees are now back in leaf expect a wider pattern of power outages and downed trees throughout Munster leading to dangerous driving conditions.
High sided vehicles should take particular care on open motorways and coastal routes.
Leave your bike or motorbike at home for the day.
Cork, Shannon and Kerry airport may well be impacted tomorrow evening, a lesser extend in Dublin, Knock and Waterford. Expect cancellations to some sea crossings.
