Just want to clarify this because we have had a lot of people querying since this was on the news. You DO NOT require a passport for sailings between Cairnryan/Liverpool to Belfast/Larne because this is still UK to UK.
Sailings that will be affected are:
Holyhead to Dublin
Pembroke to Rosslare
Fishguard to Rosslare
To clarify, you will need a passport if you are travelling on any sailing that takes you from the UK directly into the Republic of Ireland. You do not need a passport if you are travelling on a sailing between the UK and the UK.
Please get in touch if you need any further information.

Important Travel Update
From 28 September 2026, all passengers travelling on Stena Line services via Dublin, Holyhead, Fishguard and Rosslare will be required to present a valid passport at check-in.
✅ Applies to all passengers
✅ All ages and nationalities
❌ No other forms of identification will be accepted
This change is being introduced to comply with UK Border Force data requirements.
If you or anyone in your travel party does not currently have a passport, we recommend applying as soon as possible to ensure it is issued before your journey.
