Airline and pilots due back at Labour Court

02/07/2024

Today Mick Barry TD raised our pay dispute with Aer Lingus at Leinster House.

Executive managements pay increased by 66% since 2019.
Last year alone, Aer Lingus profits were 225m.
Yesterday it was announced Aer Lingus CEO received a 269,000 euros share bonus just last week.

Meanwhile Aer Lingus pilots have not had a pay rise since 2019.

Profits are up 400%.
Costs to pilots are up over 20%.

Pilots have a right to protect their pay.

This needs to end.

The solution is a meaningful pay increase to account for inflation.

Our Aer Lingus members are in this position because management have failed to provide them with a meaningful offer on pay that accounts for inflation and the sacrifices made by pilots to save Aer Lingus during the pandemic.
We had hoped the company would come to their senses but they haven’t. All that is left for the pilots is to express their rights is to take this route.

Pilots union’s industrial action could disrupt, delay or even cancel flights as pilots refuse to work overtime or out of contracted hours
