Job Opportunity – Horse Riding Instructor / Yard Assistant

Pony Tales Stables is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and reliable Horse Riding Instructor / Yard Assistant to join our friendly team.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who is passionate about horses, enjoys working with children and adults, and is happy to be involved in all aspects of stable life. The role may also include assisting with and delivering therapeutic horse riding sessions, so patience, empathy, and a calm approach are essential.
A live-in position may be available for the right candidate.
Role Responsibilities
🐎 Teaching horse riding lessons (group and private) for children and adults
🐎 Assisting with or delivering therapeutic riding sessions
🐎 Supporting pony club activities, camps, and stable events
🐎 General yard duties including:
* Mucking out
* Feeding
* Turning out / bringing in horses
* Grooming and tacking up
* Yard maintenance and keeping the yard clean, safe, and organised
🐎 Daily care, welfare, and wellbeing of horses and ponies
🐎 Preparing horses/ponies for lessons and activities
🐎 Creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for riders of all abilities
Ideal Candidate
✔ Previous experience in a riding school, equestrian centre, or yard environment
✔ Confident handling horses and ponies
✔ Teaching experience preferred
✔ Experience in therapeutic riding / working with additional needs is a strong advantage
✔ Friendly, patient, compassionate, and reliable
✔ Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
✔ Flexible, including some weekend work
✔ Relevant equestrian qualifications an advantage
