MAYNOOTH UNIVERSITY UPDATE
Dear Students,
After 20 years of operating our Maynooth University bus route, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the difficult decision to cease operations effective 12th May 2026. We apologise for not sharing this information with you sooner.
Following discussions with members of the University travel team, we wanted to explore ways to keep the service going, but unfortunately, we have not been able to find a way to continue operating this service.
We understand this news may be disappointing, and regret any inconvenience this may cause
This was not an easy choice. For almost a quarter of a century, our buses have safely transported thousands of students to and from Maynooth University.
We have explored every possible option to continue, but unfortunately, rising operational costs, changing transportation needs, and regulatory requirements have made it unsustainable to keep the route running.
As we bring this service to a close, we would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has been part of its journey over the years.
We are especially thankful to our dedicated drivers, without whom none of this would have been possible.
In particular, we would like to thank:
•Tom Murphy, who drove the bus in the early days and played a key role in establishing the success of the service.
•Seamus, who regularly drove the coach and continued to provide reliable service over many years.
•Mick , who has been the main driver on this route for over 10 years. Mick carried out his duties with the highest level of professionalism and care. His commitment to ensuring every student arrived at the University safely has been truly appreciated.
To the students who have travelled with us: Thank you for being such wonderful passengers. We understand that this change may bring challenges, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience
If you have any questions or need assistance during this transition, please feel free to contact us at 044 9372777 or by email [email protected].
