Changes to cash fare options on selected TFI Local Link services are due to come into effect on 17th August 2026.

Under planned changes, several fare products including Adult Return, Adult 7-Day, Young Adult Single, Young Adult Return, Young Adult 7-Day, Child 7-Day and Child Return will no longer be available to purchase with cash. However, customers can continue to purchase both Adult Single and Child Single fares with cash.

Customers who currently use these fare options are encouraged to avail of alternative payment methods including TFI Leap Cards, the TFI Go app and contactless payment.

TFI Leap Cards, including Young Adult and Student Leap Cards, offer a convenient way to pay and can provide better value for passengers. Availing of digital payment options can also help create a quicker, smoother and more seamless travel experience.

These changes form part of ongoing efforts to reduce cash handling on services while continuing to offer core cash fare options to customers.

Our services over the August Bank Holiday Weekend are as follows:

Services will operate to their normal timetable on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Bank Holiday Monday – 3rd August 2026
RRS Services will operate to a Sunday timetable:
880 – Carlow ↔ Naas ↔ Carlow
821 – Newbridge ↔ Sallins Train Station ↔ Newbridge
892 – Newbridge ↔ Kilcullen & Dunlavin ↔ Newbridge
888 – Athy ↔ Allenwood ↔ Athy
Route 883 – Athy ↔ Newbridge ↔ Athy

This service will operate as normal up to and including Saturday, 1st August 2026.
No service will operate on Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd August 2026.
Services will resume on Tuesday, 4th August 2026.

DRT Services
DRT services will not operate on Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd August 2026.
All DRT services will resume their normal timetable on Tuesday, 4th August 2026.
