Great to let you know that the arrival of medical products to the Leben Building UHL, that we are purchasing from our 2017 Truck Run 4 Katie event, has finally started ๐๐๐.
Sincere thanks to everyone who came along to partake in our weekend event, to those who helped us out, and everyone who donated to our charity before, during & after the event. All greatly appreciated.
Truck Run 4 Katie is delighted that today, the 23rd of August three of our Committee Members, John Maloney โ Chairperson, Caroline Lucas โ Secretary and Linda Lee Drennan โ Treasurer met with Peig Harnett CF CNS at the Leben Building at the University Hospital Limerick (UHL) to start the process of donating some of the medical equipment that has been ordered from the money raised from our 2017 truck run event. These Fitbit Charge 2 (Heart Rate + Fitness Wristband) will aid all Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) patients who attend the Leben Building.
Linda Lee Drennan, Treasurer of Truck Run 4 Katie handed over the products to Mรกire Curran CF Physiotherapist who said โFitbits are popular to track physical activity and are a great motivational tool to help people reach their exercise goals !! The โFitbit Charge 2โ tracks steps, calories, distance travelled, and even heart rate and sleep. Our CF Physiotherapists will now be able to remotely monitor and evaluate exercise for people with CF. Our aim is to research the effectiveness of the Fitbits with remote monitoring for people with CF, and ultimately optimise physical activity, health and wellbeing.โ
Truck Run 4 Katie is looking forward to the further medical equipment arriving, which we have already ordered, from the โฌ156,161.50 (including expenses) amount which we raised from our 2017 event.
We would like to most sincerely thank everybody who took part in our 2017 event and to all who donated to our charity (CHY 21597) which will benefit all the Adult Cystic Fibrosis patients who attend UHL.
