Job Summary
The Manager – Flight Operations is responsible for supporting the Head of Flight Operations. Function as Flight Operations Manager reporting to the Advisor - Flight Operations. Responsible for executing all activities as defined in the DGCA CAR and as defined in the Company Operations Manual or by the Company from time to time. Ensuring Flight Operations are conducted in a safe, efficient and professional manner while ensuring strict adherence and compliance with the DGCA and Company rules and regulation governing flight operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the company's aircraft fleet, ensuring alignment with DGCA regulations and company policies. Implement strategic and operational goals for the Flight Operations department.
• Maintain strong working relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring adherence to all DGCA regulations, approvals, and standards. Coordinate necessary regulatory reporting and approvals.
• Ensure the recruitment, training, and career development of Flight Operations staff. Ensure staff have the necessary competencies, training, and certifications to perform their roles effectively. Manage crew licensing and medical validity.
• Promote a safety-conscious culture and manage the Safety Management System (SMS). Identify and mitigate operational risks, monitor safety issues, and address exceedance reports and safety observations.
• Develop and manage the annual budget for the Flight Operations department. Monitor departmental expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgetary allocations and maintaining cost-efficiency.
• Ensure that all Flight Operations policies, processes, and manuals are developed and updated in line with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Ensure effective implementation and compliance.
• Plan and organize training for flight crew and operations staff. Ensure third-party training meets required standards and aligns with company objectives.
• Conduct periodic audits of flight operations, including Dispatch, Training, Licensing, and Ramp activities, ensuring compliance with the Company Operations Manual and DGCA regulations. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to address any non-conformances.
• Oversee the administration, discipline, and personal development of Flight Operations staff.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare policies and foster a positive and supportive work environment.
• In consultation and coordination with other concerned Quikjet departments set benchmark standards and formulation of policies in respect of:
i. Crew recruitment
ii. Crew utilization
iii. Training standards
iv. Safety standards and procedures
v. Operational efficiency
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, efficiency, integrity, and customer focus. Regularly review department performance and lead initiatives to address improvement areas. Report to senior management and advise the Head of Flight Operations as necessary.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Advisor – Flight Operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Strong knowledge of DGCA CARs, FDTL regulations, and Flight Operations procedures.
• Familiarity with ARMS or similar crew management software.
• Strong analytical, planning, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic 24x7 operational environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Management, or related field.
• Relevant airline experience in Flight Operations.
• Prior experience handling DGCA compliance and audits preferred.
