The Suzuki Katana packs a 999cc inline four liquid-cooled motor, which churns out 152PS and 106Nm. It gets a five stage traction control, three riding modes, ride-by-wire throttle and dual-channel ABS as standard.

The motorcycle uses a fully-adjustable inverted front fork and a preload and rebound-adjustable rear monoshock. Brakes include twin discs up front with Brembo radial calipers and a disc at the rear, with Bosch dual-channel ABS. It rivals the BMW S 1000 R.

Suzuki has launched the 2022 Katana in India at Rs 13.61 lakh (ex-showroom). The neo-retro streetfighter gets a cleaner, BS6 compliant 999cc inline-four engine and a sophisticated electronics package from Suzuki that makes it extremely desirable. Have a look at our launch story here to know more.

The Suzuki Katana was showcased at Auto Expo 2020. It comes with a 1980s Katana-inspired bodywork but there are modern elements like an all-LED lighting system and a full-LCD instrument cluster.

Royal Enfield has finally introduced the all-new Meteor 350 cruiser motorcycle in India. The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 replaces the Thunderbird 350 globally and is underpinned by a new twin cradle frame, powered by a newly-developed engine and packs new connected features as well. The Meteor 350 traces its origins to the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 700 that was built during the 1950s until the early 1960s in the UK. The new offering shares little with the original barring the name. The new Meteor 350 has been launched in three variants - Fireball, Stellar and Supernova - priced at Rs. 1.75 lakh, Rs. 1.81 lakh and Rs. 1.90 lakh respectively (all prices, ex-showroom Chennai). In terms of competition, the Meteor 350 will compete with the likes of the Honda H'Ness CB 350, the Jawa, Jawa Forty-Two and the Benelli Imperiale 400.The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is underpinned by a newly-developed twin cradle frame and draws power from the all-new 349 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, SOHC engine that develops 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The new motor replaces the traditional pushrod design on the older Royal Enfield engine with a primary balancer shaft with an overhead camshaft, allowing for higher revs and more refinement. The engine is paired with a new 5-speed gearbox that offers more seamless gearshifts compared to the older models. The bike has a kerb weight of 191 kg, which makes it about 6 kg lighter than the Thunderbird 350. It also gets a longer wheelbase than the Thunderbird 350 allowing for improved straight-line stability.

Suspension duties on the new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is carried out by 41 mm telescopic front forks with 130 mm of travel, and twin-tube shock absorbers with 6-step preload adjustability at the rear. Braking performance comes from a 300 mm front disc with twin-piston floating calipers and a 270 mm disc on the rear wheel with a single-piston caliper. The bike gets dual-channel ABS as standard.

The KTM 250 Adventure has been finally launched in India, a year after the quarter-litre was globally unveiled in November 2019. The all-new offering is positioned below the KTM 390 Adventure and is the Austrian brand’s most-affordable adventure tourer in the country. It is also one of the accessible motorcycles in its segment competing against Royal Enfield Himalayan and BMW G 310 GS. The 250 Adventure shares its underpinnings with the larger 390 Adventure but borrows its powertrain from the 250 Duke. The new KTM 250 Adventure is priced at Rs. 2.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it Rs. 56,000 cheaper than the 390 ADV. Bookings for the KTM 250 Adventure are already open at dealerships while deliveries have commenced as well.

The new KTM 250 Adventure looks identical to the 390 Adventure with the rally-derived styling that includes the new 14.5 litre fuel tank with extensions, tall handlebar and a step-up style single seat. However, unlike the 390, the 250 Adventure does not get a full-LED headlamp but uses the halogen headlight from the 250 Duke with the LED daytime lights. The bike also features a small windscreen for wind deflection.

Triumph Rocket 3 R Highlights -
Triumph has launched the new Rocket III R in India at the India Bike Week. It is priced at Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The bike is essentially all-new with a new motor, new features and new underpinnings. Triumph sells two variants of the Rocket 3 abroad: A hardcore R variant and a touring friendly GT variant. We get the R variant for now and the GT might be launched at a later date.

It is powered by a larger 2500cc inline triple motor that puts out 167PS and a massive 221Nm of torque. It also gets a host of rider aids like ride-by-wire, four rider modes (Rain, Road, Sport and Rider), cornering ABS and traction control. The new Rocket III also gets a lighter aluminium frame, fully adjustable Showa suspension, Brembo Stylema brake calipers and Avon Cobra Chrome tyres.
