The Aalo-Likabali-Basar road near Likabali in Lower Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, was recently blocked due to a landslide at Siji block point. Following this incident, the administration issued a public notice announcing the road's closure from June 24th for three days, which was later extended for an additional two days on June 27th and 28th. Efforts were made to remove soil from the blockage point and new cutting took place. However, on June 28th, another landslide occurred, resulting in a fresh cut section of the road sliding down and blocking the river's flow. This poses a significant risk to downstream communities who may face potential flash floods if the accumulated water bursts through. It is imperative that the administration takes deliberate action to open the blockage and allow water to pass slowly. The landslide also swept away a motorcycle and its rider.
