Kicking off the End of Year shootout at Kankaria Lake in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India!
First up, it’s the vs the HonorGlobal in a lowlight test!
This is always a fun test of what a phone can do, simply because lowlight is challenging!
Here’s how the images look (Apple first, Honor second):
1/2. The moon, or as it’s known in Gujarati: Chanda Mama (aka Uncle Moon)!
This highlights two very different approaches: Apple is less AI, but more noise. Honor uses AI for an edited image, but it is not lifelike.
3/4/5/6. Next up is Kankaria Lake, and a funfair across the lake!
First 2 images are captured at 1x.
Second image is captured at 4x on the iPhone, and 3.5x on the Honor!
7/8/9/10: Next up is a low-light zoom test with a neon, lit-up sign as the subject!
The first 2 images are 8x on the iPhone and 10x on the Honor; both options are available in the camera viewfinder. The second 2 images are at 40x on the iPhone and 30x on the Honor, both zoom levels (max on the iPhone)
11/12/13/14: Before we get to a key reason to come to Kankaria Lake, here are some trees! Why trees?
This is a fun test of how each phone represents colors (with harsh street lighting) in low light!

First images captured at 1x on both phones. Then it’s 4x on the iPhone, followed by 3.5x on the Honor.
