Phulkari, meaning ‘flower work’, is a traditional embroidery technique celebrated for its vibrant colours and intricate floral patterns. Traditionally handcrafted for weddings, festivals and other special occasions, every careful stitch transforms handwoven cotton or khadi into a canvas of celebration, creating Phulkari’s distinctive gradients.

These embroidered blooms now adorn the tail of our aircraft, VT-BXB, carrying a piece of Punjab’s rich textile heritage across the skies.

The beauty of Patola goes beyond its vibrant colours. It lies in the remarkable craftsmanship behind every weave.

Originating in Patan, Gujarat, Patola is a handwoven silk textile in which every silk thread is individually tied and dyed before weaving, and each dyed thread is carefully aligned to create its intricate motifs - a meticulous process that can take months to complete.

Inspired by birds, animals, and flowers, Patola's striking geometric motifs reflect the rich artistic heritage of Gujarat. Today, these distinctive patterns adorn the tail of our aircraft VT-BXD, carrying this timeless craft across the skies.
