Greetings!
I am writing to bring to your urgent attention a serious and continuing issue at Ernakulam Junction, Southern Railway Division, where a main public access entry has been illegally blocked for more than one year (since 2024), resulting in denial of passenger rights and violation of freedom of movement.
The blocked entry provides essential access to:
Deputy Chief Electrical Engineerโs Office
Financial Adviser & Accounts Officer (Construction)
Railway Audit and Administrative Offices
Passenger Reservation System (PRS)
General Ticket Booking Counters
This entry is heavily used by daily working commuters returning from Kochi city, as well as thousands of Sabarimala pilgrims, senior citizens, women, and passengers with disabilities. Due to the blockage, passengers are forced to take long, unsafe, and congested routes, leading to missed trains, financial loss, and severe hardship.
No Railway authorization, public notice, or written order has been displayed at the site. When questioned, the persons responsible failed to produce any legal authority.
This situation clearly amounts to a violation of the Fundamental Right to Freedom of Movement under Article 19(1)(d) and adversely affects both public convenience and Railway administration.
I respectfully request your immediate personal intervention to:
1. Remove the unauthorized obstruction without further delay
2. Fix responsibility and take action against those involved
3. Restore permanent, safe, and unrestricted access to PRS, General Booking Counters, and Railway offices
4. Inform me in writing about the action taken

Kindly treat this matter as urgent, in the interest of passenger safety, constitutional rights, and the smooth functioning of Indian Railways.
