In Mane village between Tabo and Kaza, about 5 kilometres off the main Spiti highway, The Retreat sits at 12,000 feet in Spiti's stark high-altitude desert. Mane Village is on the "left bank" of the Spiti River, roughly between Tabo and Kaza.
360° Views, Surrounded by Pea Plantations
The property sits in a quietly breathtaking expanse with uninterrupted views of Manirang (6600 Meters), Dhankar Monastery, and the Spiti River. Summer brings a vibrant green plateau and the soft hum of village life, while autumn turns the valley gold. Winter offers stillness, solitude, and a landscape painted in browns and white, where the winter wildlife comes alive. This is an exclusivity defined by the sheer location and landscapes that surround us.
Often treated as a transit point, this eco-conscious boutique farmstay reframes Spiti as a destination for depth and solitude.
Experiences remain destination-led and immersive : village walks in Mane, stargazing under clear trans-Himalayan skies, cycling, art sessions, rock climbing, overnight camping and more. Spotting snow leopards, wolves and abundant avifauna in the winters.

✅Key Access Routes to Spiti Valley (for Doksa)
👉Via Manali (Fastest - Summer): Drive from Manali through the Atal Tunnel-Gramphu-Batal-Kunzum Pass-Losar route to reach Kaza, and then to Maneygogma. This route is typically open from June to October.
👉Via Shimla (Year-round - Recommended): Take the route from Shimla towards Reckong Peo-Nako-Tabo-Kaza. This path is better for acclimatization and is preferred by first-time visitors, open most of the year.
Getting to Spiti Valley
There are no direct flights or trains to Spiti; the final leg of your journey must be by road via one of two main routes:
📍Route A: Via Shimla (All-Weather Route)
Path: Shimla → Narkanda → Rampur → Reckong Peo → Nako → Tabo → Mane Village → Kaza.
Benefit: This route has a more gradual ascent, which is safer for acclimatisation against altitude sickness.
Duration: Typically takes 2–3 days of driving from Shimla.
📍Route B: Via Manali (Summer Route)
Path: Manali → Atal Tunnel → Kunzum Pass → Losar → Kaza → Mane Village.
Constraint: This route is only open from roughly late June to October due to heavy snow at Kunzum Pass.
Duration: Approximately 10–12 hours from Manali to the Kaza area.
✅Nearest Arrival Points
📍By Air: Bhuntar Airport (Kullu) is the closest (approx. 245–250 km), though Chandigarh International Airport offers better connectivity.
📍By Train: The nearest major railhead is Chandigarh or Kalka, from where you can proceed to Shimla by road or toy train.
