Delivering Engineering Excellence: Seamless Coke Chamber Logistics Across Eastern India
Transporting two massive Coke Chambers — each over 36 meters long, 10 meters in diameter, and weighing 400+ MT — was no ordinary move. For a major petrochemical expansion in Eastern India, Prism Logistics engineered and executed one of the region’s most complex multimodal operations.
The journey spanned over 2,000 km from India’s western coast to the project site, involving route reinforcement, riverbed dredging, and mid-sea transshipment. A 100-meter-long inclined bypass was built to manage roll-on and roll-off operations, while Goldhofer SPMTs and 500 HP prime movers handled precision transport across challenging gradients.
A highlight was the high-sea transfer using a 3,000+ MT heavy-lift crane — completing the shift from an ocean vessel to a river barge without relying on port infrastructure. From coastal shipping to inland barging and final road delivery, each phase was executed with precision, safety, and real-time coordination.
The project was completed on time, without incidents, and stands as a benchmark in engineering-driven logistics for India’s oil and gas sector.
