Europe is set to open globally with the Digital Green Certificate.

The government has issued a new timeline of reopening hotels, bars and restaurants with tourism allowed from 1 June with the government offering a payment to entice tourists to visit. From that date it plans to allow vaccinated travelers into the country using the EU's Digital Green Certificate.

So what is Digital Green Certificate?
The Digital Green Certificate will be a proof that a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19, received a negative test result or recovered from COVID-19. It will be available, free of charge, in digital or paper format. It will include a QR code to ensure security and authenticity of the certificate.

This can be used in India as well.

If Europe as a whole, (with a population of less than 75 Crores) is doing this to promote tourism. We also can.

Let the Corona settle a bit.

Save Tourism: Ways to Help the Travel Industry Recover

With the rise of the Coronavirus and 2020 ended up being the worst year for travelers, we’re all left worried about the future of the travel industry. But most importantly, with that being unknown, we’re also worried about the damage this pandemic has caused the travel and tourism industry. So, how can we save tourism around the world?

But first, We need to know, Why Do We Need to Save Tourism?

In early 2019, a study by World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has shown that the travel and tourism industry was the second-fastest growing industry after healthcare which is still on a good track. According to WTTC’s study, the industry grew by 3.9% in 2018, above global GDP growth of 3.2%.

The industry also contributes to global economies by creating endless jobs, as it, in fact, involves many other industries within itself. Those include transportation, lodging, activities, and more. Not just that, but there are many countries that their GDP highly relies on tourism and those who rely.
So, why again bother to save tourism?

Maybe this sounds like a joke to those who read it, but a real journey through the facts... It is no wonder that the Government of Kerala earns a huge income from the tourism sector. The revenue is generated mainly in the form of taxes. This sector also acts as a sole source of income for many households as well. About 1.5 million people are employed in this sector. But the Corona Pandemic disrupted this sector widely, putting any ray of hope from its doom. It was a bolt from the blue to many who are associated with this sector. Many hotels winded up their operations or running with half of the staff strength. Life becomes miserable to many who are directly or indirectly associated with the sector like taxi drivers, tourist guides, etc.
This is the high time for the Govt to open up their eyes. Let us raise our voice.
